Infected Ingrown Hair Still Bump A Month Later

About a month back I got this really nasty sore on my penis. I wasn't sure what it was until a very large ***** head developed on it and then I realized it was pimple, or at least I thought. I tried my best not to pop it but unfortunately it popped without me knowing it. That's when I discovered 2 small hairs inside it that were all curled up and over a 1/2 inch long! So then I finally realized it was an ingrown hair that had gotten infected over time. After it popped there was a rather large hole where all the puss had come out of so for each day, twice a day I filled the hole with an antibiotic ointment until the swelling receded enough and the hole healed up. My only problem now though is that there is still a bump where the infected ingrown hair was. It's not nearly as big as it once was, but nonetheless there is still a bump there. Is this normal? Could it be some type of scar tissue that formed from the infected ingrown hair? I'm just very self-conscious about it and about anyone seeing it. I also have a very small case of Fordyce spots so this really doesn't help at all.

I figured this would be the best place to put this since I figured this community would know the best about this kind of stuff.
