Ive lived with acne my whole life.

Ive lived with acne my whole life. Im 19 years old and I feel like Im never going to have a beautiful face. All my life ive felt insecure and ashamed to look people in the face. Ive talked to my doctor about it, and all she does is proscribe me things that never work. Ive tried most of the products that I can afford. I was just wondering if anyone out there has found a good product that may be helpful. Im willing to try pretty much anything. Thank you.

Avoid using cleansers with high alcohol content as they tend to dry your skin out and cause more irritation. Cleansers such as Cetaphil or Aquanil are the best because they clean the skin but also moisturize them as well. Hot water may be good for your dishes but they reek on your face. Try cleaning often with a gentle cleanser under mild warm water and then moisturize with that is made for sensitive skin. If you wash with a wash cloth make sure it’s really soft or just use your hands. The trick here is to keep your skin clean and as moisturized as possible while reducing the occurrence of anything that could cause irritation. Sometimes no matter how much you baby your skin it really comes down to hormones. For some people they need to see a dermatologist and get prescribed an oral antibiotic that will help them regulate the hormones that cause their adult acne. Simple test are done by your dermatologist and you would be amazed at how well they work. Some people spend a fortune on over the counter drugs and realize one simple prescription by their dermatologist can solve the problem.

Hi, did you get your hormone levels checked out and have you tried birth control pills? My hormone results came back normal but I was still prescribed "Jeanine" (it's the same as Valette) and I've only been on it for 2 months but it did wonders for my skin and hair. First of all, my hair wasn't greasy anymore. My skin turned from combination to perfectly normal! I stopped developing new blackheads and stopped breaking out! I was also on Differin gel for 2 months but I only applied that to my chin area where I would get deep, cystic pimples. So I can say for sure that the rest of my face improved thanks to birth control. I have to mention though, i had very mild acne on the rest of my face...just blackheads on the nose and occasional little pimples here and there.

i had severe acne and have been left with red marks all over my face. My acne comes and goes. When i had acne previously i had N Lite laser, which cleared it up and then i went to The private clinic in Harley Street, London where i had a few skin peels (fairly minor and didn't hurt) and this helped a lot. Unfortunately my acne has returned due to stress so i may need more peels in the future.
