Just wondering........

Ive tryd alot of things, this stuf called Oxy-~~~~ something, I dont know the full name, and proactiv. Proactiv worked for 2, 2 1/2 weeks, then had seriuos back lashs for the next 5-6 months. Since then my acne has definitely improved over past year or so. I discovered something that helps it, not cures, but helps, alot for me, Dial-Antibacterial Body Wash. I started using it back in august, when my father had a slight, heart attack, close call, but fine today, doctors presrcibed that for him to use while showering/batheing for while untill the incisions healed. One day, I decided to use it, cuase we didnt have soap, and i had been working all day, thats when I noticed that it started to help my acne. My question is, is it a good thing to use, or not. Becuase I know that the antibacterial ingrediant in it, kills, all the bacteria, pretty much, from everything I've read on it, and I know that there are some bacteria that are good for you. so this is my question, should I keep using it, and is there other things out there that'll help me.

My acne isnt bad, not compared to alot of others out there, its sorta on the low end/spectrum of acne, but  it's very, Very annoying, especially when i see most all of my freinds not having a single blemish, and the stuff I used, work's for them, (minus Proactiv),

Other note, I did try pHsiderm, which showed considerable clearer skin almost directly after I used and my skin cooled from being in the shower,, (spent the night at a freinds house and had to take shower, due to working outside for pretty much the whole day, havent been able to find it since so I've made due.

Hi. There are lots of effective treatments for acne. Proactive and other products available to the public are of limited benefit for anything other than mild acne, and you should see your doctor.
If Oxytetracycline was ineffective (is that what you meant?) another oral antibiotic such as Lymecycline should be tried. Acne responds slowly to oral antibiotics, they need to be taken for at least 8-12 weeks to see an improvement. It is therefore useful to use a topical retinoid such as adapalene (Differin) at the same time.
Teenage/Adult female acne patients may also benefit from taking the combined oral contraceptive pill. The oestrogen which it contains blocks the effects of androgens -the hormones responsible for acne.
Eloise.
