I used 2 have REALLY bad acne. My faceFace pain exploded after about 6 weeks of using proactive. I started using cleniaClenia emollient cream Clenia foaming wash wash and tazorac and that has done wonders for my skin. Even though my skin is better than it was, I still have and get alot of blackheads. Once the tazorac seems to have cleared everything up, the next day I have new blackheads. I have been using topical exfoliating medications for years now...my faceFace pain is never blackhead free...What do I do?
Shop-bought preparationsPreparation h hydrocortisone are of limited benefit. See your doctor for a prescription of Differin, a topical syntheic retinoid which is effective at clearing spots and blackheads.
Taking a combined birth control pill such as Yasmin or Diane35 will also help as acne is caused by a sensitivity to andorgens (hormones) in our bodies. A course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline may also be indicated. If your doctor feels you warrant both antibiotics and the pill use a condom as there is a theorectical risk that oral tetracylines may reduce the contraceptive (but not antiandrogen) properties of the pill.
