Not sure if this is acne?

My Fiance has a huge bump on his butt crack. Embarasing, I know, but the thing is, it has these long pieces of hair that ocasionally come out of it. He has the same problem on his face, around his mouth. His doc told him to use nair on it and it would go away, but it hasent. it has just gotten worse, and he cant get hair out of it anymore, it just bleeds. What is this? what can he do to get rid of it? has anyone else had the same problem?

I have a mole on my back that sounds nearly identical. Long hairs grown out of it, and it occasionally bleeds. My derm told
me that it could be removed but if it doesn't bother me to leave it alone. However these don't spread so if he has new bumps appearing then I would go immediately and have them checked.

It's an in grown hair and it's perfectly normal. I had a few on the back of my head and it would hurt when I would touch it! I didn't do anything about it though. I just left it alone and it pretty much went away. Don't irritate it at all..constantly touching and picking at it only makes it worse.
