On Accutane and may be prego

What do i do? I've been on accutane for 5 months now and my period was do on the 26th. Im 8 days late. Will my baby be ok?

YES it can harm your baby..Stop taking it immediatley.. Accutane can cause brain damage and serious things to an unborn baby, which is why they emphasize that when you got on it...

Accutane can cause SERIOUS birth defects.. the fact that it's already in your system, and if you are pregnant, you are at the point where the toxicity of the drug will play a key role in the development of an unborn child.  you should get tested right away and speak to your doctor immediately.  I'm surprised you were not required to have blood tests every month to ensure you were not pregnant... i had to do that and i only took it for a month.

I did take a prego test after i posted about my issues. Im not prego. Im not sure what's going on with my body. Mt period has not started and im not prego. So........ What do I do? I am with the I pledge program. And i do take prego and blood test on a regular basis. However, my period is not here and im not prego.

Mt derm recently lowered my accutane from 2 40 mgs a day to 1 40 mg pill a day because my tryglycerides went up tremendously. Can that couse the period to stop? I have never in my life had any issues with my period being irragular? So im not sure exactly what is going on.

Hi. Accutane can cause menstural irregularities which explains why your period was late.
As Accutane causes severe malformations in 90% of exposed pregnancies, use 2 forms of contraception (combined pill plus condom) whilst on Accutane and for 5 weeks after.

Whew, that's got to be a relief to know that you're not pregnant.   Accutane is definitely NOT a drug you want to be on pregnant, if the pregnancy would even be viable.  About the menstrual irregularities, many medications can cause that, and it can certainly be concerning.  I was on a medication for two weeks, and I STILL have not got my period and that was due over two weeks ago.... sometimes I wonder....

Fortunatly enough i am not pregnant. They are doing a bllod test now to check my hormone levels and my thyroid. I asked my derm if accutane causes issues with my menstrual cycle and she indicated that is does not. I have been on accutane since june or july. But finally she just took me off because I also had another issue with my bells palsy trying to come back at the same time having issues with my period. Im not sure what is going on with my body. I'm not stressed or anything. Well thank you so much for you feed back. It's greatly appreciated. :)

Ok everyone. I just found out the reason i missed my period is because I have PCOS. This is a condition is which the insulin is not distributes properly thru the liver. Anyway.....Honestly I think the accutane contributed to my symptoms of the condition because I have never missed a period in my life outside of getting pregnant with my 2 beautiful children.
