Recurring Acne on Cheeks

I've been having problems with recurring, very bad acne on my upper cheeks. They look different from regular acne - bigger, almost like boils, and rarely form a whitehead. I'm not sure what to do about them - they don't go away even though I keep my skin clean, and haven't responded at all to 2% salicylic acid daily wipes (Stridex). The only thing I can think of is that fact that my hair usually covers them, or that I sleep on my side. Help! Thanks <3

A photo of the scarring that has resulted from previous encounters with it. Does anyone know of a good way to treat these? :(: http://i56.tinypic.com/ip1oqu.jpg
