Sensitive AND Acne Prone Skin...Please HELP!!

I am a 16 year old who has very reactive skin (due to product overuse in the past). Normally I only have a few breakouts, but recently my entire T-zone has become filled with pimples and blackheads. I really need some kind of treatment that will work with my sensitive skin yet get rid of the acne. I am currently using Spectro Gel for sensitive skin and La Roche Posay moisturizer, and have tried many acne spot treatments. Right now I'm switching between tea tree oil and a mixture of yeast and water. Does anyone have any suggestions???

Have you tried using Proactiv solution? I used it for about 4 and a half years, basically the entire time I was in high school and i've gotta say I think it really helped my skin. I still would break out once in a while, but my acne was definitely more bearble than it would have been had I been using anything else. You say you have sensitive skin, so MAYBE proactiv would be too strong for you...if it is you should try something like Aveeno clear complexion cleanser & moisturuzer or cetaphil products. Just remember whatever kind of regimen you start with you must give it TIME to work and not just move on to something else if you don't see immediate resutls. I know that can be hard, believe me I never enjoyed having to be patient with my acne but you should try to stick with the same regimen for at least 3 weeks before you deicde to try something else. Also, I've gotta say that drinking alot of water, eating lots of fruits and vegetable and getting plenty of rest is very important in keeping your skin clear...I don't know what your lifestyle is like but if you don't really do those three things then maybe give it a try and i'm sure you'll start to see some sort of improvement in your skin. Hope this helped you out!

I like La Roche-Posay for sensitive skin too.
If you cannot tolerate topical lotions see your doctor for oral acne medication which will not irritate your sensitive skin.
A 12 week course of Oxytetracycline 500mg twice a day will clear acne in most cases.
Female patients may also benefit from a combined oral contraceptive pill, as acne is caused when hormones stimulate our oil glands.
Eloise.

As you said, Shannon, product overuse was the original cause of your problem... your skin was damaged by the chemicals these solutions contain, so the best thing you can do now is to use natural products. Your skin needs special attention, so take your time and read the labels of the products before you buy; if you can't pronounce the name of the ingredients, its better to stay away from them.
