Staph infection constantly returning

by TayaTaya, Jun 27, 2009 03:07AM
Hi guys.

I am not sure whether this is the right forum to put this question...

My partner has a problem that is constantly returning. He went to a doctor and was diagnosed with staph infection that occurs in the area of his public hair and sometimes on his penis... The area is quite small - not bigger than a coin and this 'pimples' occur in clusters (about 3-7 'pimples'). (they are not pimples actually - more like small blisters 'filled' with fluid). First, the area on the skin becomes red, then blisters appear and last for about 2-3 days, skin is still red and then little scabs appear on the area where the blisters were. He says the area tingles ...

He went to a doctor two or three times and every time he was given oral antibiotics and some antibiotic creams... They actually helped, but only for the period of a month, or in best case month and a half...

We are trying to be optimistic with that and are really trying our best to cope with infections... he doesn't smoke, drink, eats healthy etc... There is no point in going to the doctor and popping pills if they do not help on the long run - we want to stop this bacteria outbreak for good - there is no point in just healing consequences...  What can we do to prevent staph infection in future??

Please help us!
