What type of medication should i take for my acne

hi doctor,
I have a question i have acne. Sometimes my skin is great i have no pimples and sometimes like right now its horrible my chin is red and swollen and it hurts when i talk. Im going to a dermatologist tommorrow. Im currently taking bezoil cream. But I was wondering what kind of over the counter oral acne antibiotic can i take? Because this crem isnt doing the job i break out every once in a while but when i do its horrible and very painfull. I have gotten some weak oral pills and they helped alot.
thanks

You cannot buy oral antibiotics over the counter but your GP or dermatologist can prescribe you them. Acne should respond to 250mg Oxytetracycline taken for 8 to 12 weeks. You can use a topical retinoid like Differin (adapalene 0.1%) at the same time as taking oral antibiotics.
Eloise.
