When do males usually outgrow acne?

I've had acne ever since 13 or 14 and I'm nearing 19 years old now.  I was wondering when this will end.  Rite now I'm keeping it under control with differin, Keflex, and erythromycin gel.  But since I've been on acne meds for so long my skin is super oily and that is so embarressing and annoying.  I'm pretty sure that when I stop with the medications the oiliness will stop.  When do the majority of males outgrow acne?

Also is there anything for oiliness?

The average age that Teenagers grow out of acne is 18-19 but it varies from person to person.
It's all about hormones and puberty and you know that, just hang on and you'll be out of it sooner than you think!

Differin gel is good so keep going with that. Oral antibiotics may be more helpful than topical ones. Ask your doctor for oral erythromycin or oxytetracycline. If your acne continues ask your doctor to refer you to a dermatologist to be assessed for roaccutane (accutane in the USA) I'm a 31 year old female with acne and accutane gave me a complete break from my spots and for many is a permanent cure. Yes most people outgrow their acne but if yours is persitant, severe or resistant to anti-biotics then consider accutane. A course normally lasts between 16 and 24 weeks, with clear skin often acheived around 12 weeks. The effects continue after you finish the course as it shrinks the sebaceous glands which produce the oil. Make an appointment with a dermatologist and keep using the Differin and Erythromycin (oral or topical) from your doctor until then.

Yes i have, it is not classed as adult acne when you are nineteen. But there is no way of knowing whether you'll outgrow yours or if you do whether it will return in the future. That is why i suggest treating it quickly and aggressively now, considering the treatments i've listed in posts above.
