accutane and oral cortisone

I have acne that has not responded to antibiotics. I have just seen a dermatologist who prescribed accutane
with a course of oral cortisone. I have heard about the side effects of cortisone which worry me. Is it a normal approach to prescribe oral cortisone with accutane? How likely is the cortisone to add anything to the improvement from accutane alone?

Cortisone is given as a night dose to supress the hypothalamic corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) system which has a control in human sebocytes in the pathogenisis of acne.
