accutane and prednisone

by paris42, Dec 22, 2008 06:33PM
My dermatologist recently prescribed me Accutane and Prednisone. Everything that I have read about Accutane says that I should expect it to get much worse before it gets better. However, my dermatologist has told me that it usually doesn't get worse and to ease my worries she prescribed Prednisone. How does Prednisone work with Accutane? Is she right about Accutane not making it worse?

Hi. Some patients experience a temporary increase in acne (initial flare-up) during the first 2 to 4 weeks of treatment. This doesn't happen to everyone but your dermatologist has prescribed Prednisone as a precaution.
Eloise.
