acne or oral herpes?

hey,

im a teenager who has been dating a girl for nearly a year and ive never thought i contracted any stds from her but one day i noticed a small brownish grey area on the corner of her mouth. when i asked her about it she said she didnt know what it was but wasnt worried. probably 3 weeks later i noticed a tiny white dot on my top lip towards the middle on the edge of my lip, and didnt think too much of it, but then i noticed a few more, all of which were very small and only noticeable up close. since then ive noticed similar symptoms with her, but for both of us symptoms appear to come and go. im kinda freaking out cause ive read information to support that the dots i saw could be herpes or just benign acne. PLEASE give me any information you can asap.

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to say if it is an STD or a benign lesion like warts cysts etc. I would suggest consulting primary care physician or a dermatologist at your earliest convenience for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
