acne problems

i am suffering from acne from last 3 years.The condition is not severe but yet i get 2-3 pimples on my face.These results to scarring which lasts for nearly 1 month.So what can i do to get free of this problem permanently.I do not want any temporary treatments.

Hi. This is no 'cure' for acne. You must realise that you may need treatment for as long as your tendancy to acne persists. Acne occurs when androgens (male hormones found in male and female bodies) stimulate the sebaceous (oil) glands. Bacteria on the skin feeds off this sebum (oil) and spots grow.
To clear acne you must use a treatment which targets the causes; androgens, oil and bacteria.
Oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline are helpful, as are topical antibiotics like Clindamycin.
Topical lotions such as Retin-A or Duac gel will dry the skin and prevent the abnormal processes of the skin involved in acne.
Female acne patients can take an anti-androgen or combined oral contraceptive pill to block the effects of androgens.
