acne questions

by verbalhologram88, Oct 22, 2008 01:28AM
I currently use Differin gel, I know it helps dry out the skin. I'm worried about over drying and skin damage. i use a panoxl bar to wash at night, before i use the gel. in the morning i switch off between the bar and a nutrogena (sp) gentle cleanser. What can maybe someone tell me about differin?

I also have a history of minor acne from age 10-18 now 20 i'm having more issues than ever. i know lifestyle can be a factor. when i lived back at home i was showering in the morning and night, could this have helped keep my face clean? also could i be overdoing it with what im using now?

I also am using Differin gel at night after I wash with a soap-free cleanser and in the morning I wash with a Benzoyl peroxide 4% creamy face wash. I've been doing this for 3 months and I haven't had any breakouts in weeks! Keep doing what your doing the only thing I would change is only use the panoxl bar in the morning and something gentle at night with the Differin. I don't recommend neutragena from my own personal experience it is very drying and left my skin tight and itchy which I've learned aggrevates acne and can cause more flair ups. Good luck!

Hi. I use Differin and avoid over-drying my skin by using Effaclar H cleansing foam by La Roche-Posay. It is specially formulated for oily skin made fragile by over-drying skincare products.
It can be hard to find, I ordered mine online.
Eloise.
