antibiotics and contraceptive oills

does anyone know if taking oral antibiotics simultaneously with dianette pills( contraceptive pill for acne) will treat my acne faster or not recommended? any recommendations on effective oral antibiotics?

The only effective pill I have come across is Accutane. I have taken all kinds of antibiotics and none of them are good to take over a long period of time and they weaken your birth control pill.

Doxycycline or Tetracycline is very effective for controlling Acne. Or you could use Erythromycin ointment locally. Doxycycline or Tetracycline is not advisable if you are a teen or a woman not on any birth control as it can cause staining of the teeth permanently.

Hi. Oral antibiotics such as Oxytetraycline are commonly prescribed in conjunction with Dianette for acne or peri-oral dermatitis. Dianette blocks the actions of acne-causing hormones in the body and tetracyclines kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin. This is usually very effective, although if it is not a stronger medicine called Accutane can be prescribed, as Rachel mentioned.
You must use a barrier form of contraception eg condom when taking tetracycline antibiotics and Dianette together. This is because there is a chance that tetracyclines may reduce contraceptive reliability of the pill.
