cortisone and acne

I had a cortisone injection in my shoulder 3 days ago for bursitis. i noticed today that my usually acne prone skin has suddenly clear up a great deal. Could this be from the cortisone? and if so, could it be a solution to my acne problem in the future somehow?

Steroids should not be used long term as they can lead to thinning of the skin.
What acne treatment do you usually use? An oral antibiotic such as Oxytetracycline 250mg twice a day in conjunction with a topical retinoid like Differin is very effective.
Female acne patients will also benefit from taking a special contraceptive pill called Diane35 (Dianette in the UK). Other combined pills containing oestrogen may also be beneficial if you don't warrant Diane35. The oestrogen they contain blocks the action of androgens -the hormones responsible for acne. Avoid injectable contraceptives, the mini pill and the hormonal IUD as these can make acne worse.
