Acne is the term used to describe oily skin with spots and blackheads on the face, chest or back. Acne spots may be single or numerous. Individual spots may clear in about a week, but the condition can last throughout childhood, adolesence and into adulthood.
Luckily there are many ways to treat and prevent acne until you are no longer prone to it. For occasional individual spots I like ByeByeBlemish drying lotion. For more widespread mild to moderate acne I recommend Freederm.
If over the counter products prove to be of limited use see your doctor for a course of oral or topical antibiotics.

thanks for the response.  one last question:  would an acne pimple or pimple in general be present in the morning then barely noticeable by the afternoon?  or would this sound more like skin irritation/sensitive skin/allergy?  thanks again.

An acne spot which doesn't become inflamed or infected will heal quicker than one than does. Skin allergies tend to itch, where as acne doesn't itch.
