face, back, and chest pimples

I'm 24 years old and have had pimples since I was about 12 years old.I've seen dermetologists and they have perscribed me anti biotics, creams, and everything else you can think of, but they're too expensive to follow out with.is there any affordable treatments or home remedies that you know of?I also heard that they are trying to take accutane off the market because of the side affects and I read that in rare cases, people have gone blind with accutane treatment!!!I mean.I hate having pimples, but I don't want to risk my sight just to get rid of the damn things!!

Hi. There is a lack of medical evidence that home remedies or herbal treatments work, and over the counter products tend to be of limited benefit. You will probably spend more money on these than you would on finishing a course of prescription medicine.
Accutane has many potential side effects including dry skin, sore eyes, temporary hair loss and muscle or joint pain. However, this must be balanced against the fact that it is the most effective acne medicine available. 80% of patients experience a long term remission from acne after one course lasting 16-24 weeks.
Accutane can only be prescribed by a dermatologist and patients are required to have blood tests throughout to check for liver function and raised cholesterol. Despite internet rumours, there are no plans to take Accutane off the market. I have never met a patient who went blind because of oral Isotretinoin.
