hydrocortisone cream problems

Hi,
I had a fungal infection on the side of my penis, I was advised to use Canesten hydrocortisone cream for a week, followed by another week to make sure that the fungus goes away forever.
After the tenth day I noticed that the infection have totally gone away, however the skin on my scrotum seem to have been badly damaged by the cream. The skin on my scrotum seem to be severely irritated with bumps redness and stinging and itchy sensation. I stopped using the cream for two days now but the symptoms of over-using hydrocortisone are still there, the irritation doesn't seem to have gone away.
Is there anything I can do to speed the process? please help its casing me a great deal of discomfort.

Hi there!

The symptoms could be either due to residual infection or due to an allergic reaction. I would suggest getting this evaluated by your dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
