My 9 year old grandson has an itchy red rash on his backside. Some of the spots look like pimples. He also has a milder form in both armpits. This has been going on for months. At one point, Clearasil seemed to help both the itching and the "pimples." Now nothing seems to help. Any advice?
Hi. Clearasil is licenced to treat acne, and this is not what your grandson has, since acne commonly occurs on the face, chest and back and does not itch.
I recommend bathing with a bland cleanser and then applying Sucodrem. This cream contains zinc and is indicated for nappy rash as well as eczema and acne.
He should see a doctor for diagnosis and medication. Also ask the Dermatology Forum for advice, as I am only an expert on acne.
