prednisone 10mgs and sotret 20mgs info??

i just wanted to know is there any side effects?? can you get fat? do you get hair growning on the side of you face? does your face get blown up? is it successful??

im 21 years old female.. mild acne just around my chin and jaw and on the cheeks.. and i started accutane last month today makes the start of the 2nd month..im still on 40mgs a day..and yet seen no improvement just worst... i work out 6days a week for 2 houz i shower rigyht afterwards i eat healthy very healthy.... and i broke out worst soo my doctor yesterday put me on prednisone 10mgs..but my mom said its gonna get me fat and make me get mood swings and im depress already just for the fact my face is ugly and i cant get no sun... and i just wanted to know if any one been through this and what they felt and the results good or bad...im on prednisone for 17 days... i take a whole pill for 7 then half a pill for 10 and i do this everyday!!!...justt give me some feeed backkkkk

The first month is bad for some people, and than it gets better.  But you can always ask to switch to Accutane the name brand, and not a generic.  I'm on Sotret also and the first month was awful, and I'm into the second month which is better.  I might ask to have Accutane also, but since Sotret comes in more strengths than Accutane, that was why my doctor chose it.  I still have reservations on the equivalancy of  brand vs. generic.   In some meds, for some people, I do believe the name brands work better than generics.  Many people choose one name of aspirin over another, since one works better for them..right?.  Just because a drug claims to have exactly the same main ingredient, it is bonded with other fillers or meds., and for whatever reason my  pharmacist told me that they DON'T always work the same on a patient.  So if you feel the need to switch, your skin and body may look and feel better to do so.  And I truly know now this is true after talking with MANY pharmacists.  Let me know what's happening now with you Cookie!

Hi. Reassure your mom that a short course of prednisone is unlikely to result in fluid retention or weight gain.
Temporary worsening of acne is not unusual when taking oral Isotretinoin (any brand) as unseen pimples come to the surface.
Don't be put off, it will be worth it in the end. Please see my journal and photographs relating to use of oral Isotretinoin (Accutane).
