recommendation for cheaper wipes for acne

by bbuzz, Oct 30, 2009 06:05PM
My grandson went to a dematologist for his acne.  She got rid of all the blackheads and pimples and prescribed some wipes that have peroxide in them.  However, when we went to fill the prescription, it would cost $214.00 with a $50.00 coupon.  His insurance wouldn't pay anything toward the prescription.  Needless to say, we didn't get the prescription filled.  Does anybody know of any other wipes (cheaper) that would have peroxide in them?  His face is really looking good and we would like to keep it that way.  Thanks.  buzz

Hi. Clearasil and Clean & Clear both make face wipes.
Alternatively, he could use a facial wash containing either Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
Differin (adapalene 0.1%) is a very effective treatment gel for acne and blackheads and is cheaper than what he was prescribed.

Eloise, Thanks, we'll try one or all of these treatments.  Betty
