skin eruptions

I have a problem with severe chin acne, hard nodules that turn red and develop pus, for the past six months. Saw one dermatologist who prescribed BenzaClin. Was on it for a short time, saw no improvement. This is a worsening problem, scheduled to see another doctor next week. This started out as head nodules, but the chin is the most affected? Any idea what is going on. I have been applying Hibiclens to the chin, but it seems to have no impact.

Hi there!

This is likely to be a severe form of acne which has not responded to topical ointments. I would not suggest changing doctors, as you may seek review with your initial dermatologist who may prescribe different topical or systemic medications. If the acne still does not seen to respond, inteventional techniques to treat acne may be considered.
