steroid acne

by kcvh, Sep 03, 2008 08:23PM
My dermatologist said that i am suffering from steroid acne; apparently a creme i was rubbing on my face caused this. I never really had bad acne before this. Maybe a few pimples here and there... i was prescribed benzaclin and differein... about how long would it take to clear up and be back to normal again?? if so?

Hi. Steroid creams such as Hydrocortizone can cause acne and should not be used on acneic skin.
Differin is a synthetic topical retinoid which reduces redness and irritation. It is generally well tolerated and should clear acne within about 12 weeks.
Eloise.
