toddler age nodulocystic acne

my daughter is 3 and she has been suffering from toddler age nodulocystic acne for over a year. The bumps have been getting worse one by one. We recently became a member of Kaiser. They have been treating this problem since feb. 2010. She was reffered to the only pediatric dermatologist kaiser offers in northern ca. This is where she was diagnosed with a rare case of toddler acne. she was put on erythromycin antibiotic for 4 months and in that time had another large bump appear on her cheek. she has now been switched to retin-a. she has been using that daily for almost 2 months. yesterday she had to have the new acne bump drained for infecton and we are still waithing on lab results. I am so confused. her skin is scarred and nothing is working. The only thing her dr. said was to wait it out. it could take 2 years to go away. UNEXCEPTABLE! I have read medical articles that say children who do not respond to antibiotics do really well with accutane. I dont know what to do, but I am determined to find a solution. My baby is not going to live with this. It seems like there is a lack of information about this problem. I need a specialist who knows more.

i came across this while trying to research my son's acne. we just left the dermatologists office and once again, i feel lost. he has nodule like acne with scars on both cheeks. after two years of being told it was everything from baby acne, to chigger bites, to bacterial infections, to yeast infections.... they now tell me it's a rare genetic disorder with no cure. i am so upset and i hurt for my son. when he looks at his face in the mirror he points and says "boo-boo" and cries. there has to be something. have you had any luck since this post?
