Hi. If drying occurs when using Differin the patient should use a bland cleanser and moisturiser such as Cetaphil or La Roche-Posay.
Minocin contains minocycline (a tetracycline antibiotic) and acne usually responds well to this. It can take about 8 weeks to see an improvement so encourage your daughter to stick with it and follow the instructions exactly.
Most people outgrow acne since it is caused by a sensitivity to the effects of androgens (common during puberty). However stonger treatments are available should your daughter's tendency to acne persist.
