I sympathise with your daughter, i'm 31 and still have acne. Yasmin is a good contraceptive pill to take for acne as it is an anti-androgen (blocks the male hormones in the body so they can't cause spotsBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots) Another good anti-androgen pill is Dianette (Diane35 in the USA) These pills can be taken with antibiotics but there is a theorectical risk that the antibiotics would reduce the pills reliability as a contraceptive. So if your daughter has a boyfriend they would have to use a condom whilst she is on the pill and antibiotics. If she is still suffering from acne after trying this ask the dermatologist about Roaccutane (Accutane in the USA) this is a strong medication but can have excellent results. I think you're such a good mom being there for your daughter, too many people dismiss acne and say "It's just a few spots". Acne can cause physical and emotional scars, i got so upset about mine i had to take anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication. I'm always here if you need any advice. love loiloi xx
Regarding jongall's comment, different things work for different people. Zinc is good for the skin and can be bought in tablet form from drugstores. However, always check with your doctor before taking anything-including vitamins and herbal remedies-at the same time as acne medication due to possible contra-indications. It is not possible to take zinc at the same time as tetracycline antibiotics as it interfers with absorption. loiloi xx
