vein image

i am looking for a web site that show what a vein looks like 1, 2, 3, 4 ect day after shooting up.  The tracks on my nephews arms are raised and one is yellowish bruised.  He swears it has been while since he shot up like 3 weeks.  Spoken by a lying addict of course,  How can i tell how old the marks are?

everyones different but if it's bruised and raised it's probably newer than 3 weeks

thanks for your post.  of course, i knew this but the addict is so convincing.  i guess i would love to have images to show him i know better.  butin reality what does that really benefit.

If your nephew is injecting drugs then he is neck deep in a dangerous addiction. He WILL continue to use without inpatient rehab and aftercare. The focus should not be on the last time he used, but rather, what kind of support and professional help should you be mobilizing to help him stop. The last thing he needs is to be engaged in an arguement about how old his track marks are or how nasty they look. If he lives with you and you're planning to kick him to the curb if he uses...switch up the agreement...unless he accepts help NOW you will kick him to the curb. Unfortunately, homelessness and hunger doesn't change addicts. Professional treatment centers and aftercare gives addicts the tools to change themselves.

The fact that you posted on this forum tells me that you are genuinely concerned about your nephew. I suggest you connect with a NA goup and/or your doctor to see what your options are. If he is a minor, you should seek out youth services in your community.
