** I Got One For you MARY...Did OBAMA make the Right Choice For VP ?**

Okay, Mary....... And, all.....I don't think we ever discussed this topic.  Do you now think that Obama made the wrong choice for VP?.......I always believed that he should of picked Hillary Clinton, but just let it rest.  But, now with all the Sarah Palin  stuff, do you think that McCain did this --A strategic move because he did not pick Hillary???  dunno.  I believe it was, and I think it was a darn good one.

I am now looking at his decision, and see no other reason for him to pick her......whoa!

EWWWWW good one !   I thought he should have picked Hillary just to make sure he would win. I think if he had, he would have won with a landslide.  I have always like Joe Biden though. So I was very happy with his pick.

I personaly don't care for Sara Palin.  I've worked with women like her and recognize that personality. Yuk    Palin sure gave him a bounce in the polls and the far right are very excited about her. So, for now it was a smart choice.  Give it some time, they are already coming out with stuff she has lied about.

Yeah, I didn't really see it first.  WoW what a strategic and pathetic move on his part. It worked!!  the longevity of the Sara Palin craze?  but, what good move on the Republicans part.  As far as the attacks on her.  They better be careful how they do it cause boy can I see how it can backfire and she can take a majority of the women's vote(  Hillary's) if they aren't careful.lol. And, thats a whole lotta votes...ouch!  This just gets more interesting everyday!

As far as the firing of this Chief of Police, or whoever it was....from my understanding he was a woman beater, and did some bad stuff.  Now if that is true and they push that the wrong way.......the women voters will stand behind her, and praise her actions for trying to remove a woman & child beater....lol.  I have to look more into that one, cause I'm not sure of the whole deal, but, the dems better be careful...lol

Actually, I should ask you Mary.  Do you know what the deal is with her and the firing deal?  maybe you can save me the research....:-))))

Yeah, I think Hillary would have been a gaurantee for Obama and McBush would not have picked Palin for sure. But I like Biden too, but I would have liked to have seen Hillary in that spot. I think Bill Clinton (who I used to think the world of) screwed it up for Hillary's VP spot.
I'd really like to see Obama and Biden getting alot tuffer on McBush/Palin's lies. And boy are they doing alot of them. Then they can't even answer simple questions like "what are you gonna change?". I think Palin is even more like Bush than McBush, and thats pretty hard to do.

It was the head of the State Troopers that did get fired, supposedly because he would not fire her brother in law.  I've also heard she got rid of alot of people and hired friends& relatives.( that is what someone that worked for her said) could be a lie, don't know for sure.

No matter what they do to her she will not get the democratic women's vote, for the sheer fact she is pro-life.  She wants abortion gone....... even in rape or incest cases.  More women believe in the right to choose than don't.  This is why she has made the far right soo very happy.

You used to get that but you don't anymore (primary losers taking the VP slot). I wonder i it's because of media and film. If Obama picked Clinton for VP, all McCain would have to do is run ad after ad showing clips of the two democrats slamming each other prior to the primary.
The result would be politically devestating, in the long run.

Perhaps if the campaign hadn't gotten so vicious in the end, it would have been possible.

I agree that Bill.(dumazz) did screw it up for Hills.  Yep.....its too bad.  I still love Bill and always will. Boy does that man have charisma.....he can do no wrong if he robbed a bank in front of me.....lol.  I understand why Obam's didn't choose her.  He wants all the credit .He would have lost it having Bill around.  Could you imagine what would be said if he accomplished anything good?......Bill would get the credit.....you know what I mean?..Hillary is prolly cracking up now...hahhhahaa.  You can really see the Obama camp shakin in there chit right now.

And the saga continues.......Lmao!!...This is crazy !!

It would have been a tragic mistake in the long run, but great for FOX NeWs...lol.

Thats why Obama Can't win......sorry Mary, and Mags.....:-(((

First of all......NOBODY is going to overturn Rowe vs. Wade......NOT going to happen !!!

She is already creeping in to the Democratic women.  She is Vice President--not Pres.  So, there really is not worry---well, I take that back--McCain prolly won't finish his term...He prolly will kick-it....but, regardless.......I don't believe R vs. Wade will ever be overturned....anyway, like you said 'most women are pro-choice...but, that doesn't mean she can get it overturned.....how many times have I said that......I am talking in a big ole circle......lol.

Nauty,

I have to agree with you about pretty much everything you said. If Bill Clinton ran again, he would win. People love him. And he did mess it up for Hillary. My problem with him is the planning of 9/11 took place when he was president.

Mary,
Isn't Obama forpartial birth abortions?  I am pro choice (even though personally I wouldn't get an abortion) but I should have the choice but not in the 7th month.

Blank
306867_tn?1299253309
Mimi......I was having a hard time thinking of how to explain this so I just copied and pasted Obam's words. Pretty much he believes in it only for the saftey of the mother.
I feel the same way you do. I would probably never of had an abortion, but think it is up to the individual.

Ok for state to restrict late-term partial birth abortion
On an issue like partial birth abortion, I strongly believe that the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. I have said so repeatedly. All I've said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn't have that.
Part of the reason they didn't have it was purposeful, because those who are opposed to abortion have a moral calling to try to oppose what they think is immoral. Oftentimes what they were trying to do was to polarize the debate and make it more difficult for people, so that they could try to bring an end to abortions overall.

As president, my goal is to bring people together, to listen to them, and I don't think that's any Republican out there who I've worked with who would say that I don't listen to them, I don't respect their ideas, I don't understand their perspective. And my goal is to get us out of this polarizing debate where we're always trying to score cheap political points and actually get things done.

Choosing Palin was putting POLITICS first. Straight talk my lily white A**!
Biden was a serious and thoughtful choice. My bet is that Hillary didn't want it. We can at least be certain that Biden could step in if need be and will be a valued contributing member of the Obama team. Do you really think for a minute that Palin will be in McCain's inner circle? Wake up America!
And if Roe Vs Wade isn't in question why did they choose the VP based on that? Because they play that card for political purposes only. They get the religious conservatives  to vote for them on the basis of that single issue- when they have no intention  to  change it. Those one issue people are being used- over and over again- and they don't even realize that on all other issues they are voting against their families' own best interests.

Mary,
I know this is a very general question but what are your thoughts on the individual states being involved in other things that the federal government controls?

And I really like your polls, they are very interesting and engaging and I like getting different perspectives.

Wow, thats a great question. I am very wishey washey on that. I think the states should control some things and not others.  For example, I really can't see one state allowing abortions and not others. Everyone would just drive to that state to have an abortion, right?
Hope you don't mind. I'm gonna post your question as todays poll. It's a really good one.

McCain didn't gain any votes he wouldn't have already had. He just brought the Bubba and Bubbette vote off the sofa- those who don't really look at all the real issues. The popular vote has always been tight. If we can ever get back to ISSUES and away from tabloid politics, things will change. So. Pass the popcon and spread truth about the real issues- that would be a change I could believe in, my friends.

Clearly shows a weakness in leadership. All the baggage, polarization and so on; still an Obama-Hill ticket would have been a slam dunk winner. Biden was a wimpy pick. Change? Right. The dufus opened his big mouth by stating Hill would have been the better pick. There is judgment for ya. ;-) Just keeps getting better.

In contrast, the dems are saying that McCain picked Palin out of pressure from the far right. Farthest from the truth, anyone tracking this should know that McCain has bucked the far right in the best interest for the country. And all the dems can do is say McBush McBush... People on the center and swing independents can see through the rhetoric and the polls are reflecting the 12 pt swing after the GOP. Better start talking issues, cuz "McBush" ain't worken. Now they're using the "puter" card. Haaa.

Nauty- Please provide a link for that information- my bet is it doesn't exist. There is a lot of misinformation out there and I for one search for the truth.
Paul- I wouldn't call voting with Bush 90-95% of the time bucking his party. He WAS a maverick- but he sold out. And there are a whole BUNCH of better qualified Republican women out there. The only thing Palin has going for her is being the darling of the right wing. A "big fat resume" generally contains a lot of qualifications.Standard Rovian tactics- attack your opponants strengths.Yeah. I hope they DO start talking issues. McCain/ Palin would rather tell lies over and over again in hopes that the American people will be convinced on the basis of pure repetition. It will be sad if the majority of voters are that gullible... but it is true that they elected Bush twice- so why not expect yet another repeat?  God forbid.
Blank
482220_tn?1238125851
Thats another one, the Bush vote for the 90+ % argument. That too will wear out soon. What about the other bills that Bush didn't sponsor? Afraid the dems don't want to talk about that. Very weak argument. You're counterdicting yourself, if you believe they are all lies, then why do you want them to discuss the issues??? It wouldn't matter who McCain picked, the dems would find issues about that person. You want to believe its another Bush tenure, but the dems are really hyped because of Palin. Hard to argue w a winner.
;-)

Misinformation? Please tell me you don't think most major media outlets are left-biased, otherwise I have a bridge to nowhere you can buy. ;-)

The lies are all that McCain et al are talking about to draw attention away from the real issues: lipstick on pigs, sex ed for kindergartners, the  qualifications of Sarah Palin, the reasons for choosing Sarah Palin, sexism!!!! yadayadayada. My favorite is the commenrcial that says" McCain cleaned up Washington!" - yeah, SURE- that's a done deal that he can take credit for- NOT! I did not say that he has lied about the issues- he has just avoided /distracted from the issues. When a candidate tries to say that they are "a change" from current political leadership, they should be able to show a significant amount of opposition to the legislation supported by the other guy. Otherwise the comparison is apples to oranges.
Left Biased media?!?!?! You have got to be kidding me. The mainstream corporate media  has been consolidated and bought up by conservative interests thanks to FCC deregulation under the Bush admin. Yup. I am amped about Palin. She is a dangerously inadequate choice to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. And all the lies in the world won't make that go away.
