Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart
I read that one too. It was good.
Picoult's Nineteen Minutes was intense- but gave me a whole different understanding of those school shooters ala Columbine- and their parents. She really does her research,,,
I love the Jodi Picoult books too. My Sisters Keeper was great and so was Keeping Faith.
I'm afraid I'm a hopeless Deadhead (growing up in SF in the 60s i couldn't help it)..love their music...currently have nearly 40 gigs of live recordings on my IPOD and adding more every day. I also have Catch22 to read (again) one Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest to read for the umpteenth time and some Louis L'amour books if I ever get time

Thanks......not so much into the Grateful Dead, but if it's good reading ......I'm on it ! I can't believe nobody is reading "Million little pieces" I never understood what people saw in that book.......it was written so poorly ....to me......that it was a major brain scramble......I couldn't get though half the book, so I tried reading it in reverse......that didn't work either and I was not impressed. Poor James frey.......Im glad Oprah gave hime a public whipping. it was funny because he looked like a spanked puppy....lol.
Yes, it is worth reading so far..if you want a real good book on the history of the Grateful Dead I highly recommend "long strange trip"
by Dennis McNally (he was their publicist)...very well written..Ive also
read "searching for the sound" by bass player Phil Lesh which is also quite good, but a bit technical.. he's still playing some great music.
They all go into the drug scene quite a bit, but that was part of the whole thing..to me it's rather fascinating, the whole following that grew and how they kept playing essentially because they had this big "corporation" to support.
Garcia's drug story is tragic.

I thought Morgawr was the last book in the Shannara series I bought the last 3 books hard cover because I could not wait looks like I need to get 2 more LOL Thanks I would have run across them sooner or later but I'm happy it's sooner Thanks
I love all the Jodi Picoult books I have read. It's been so long I can't remember any of them. LOL
So I guess I am the only one reading parenting books huh?
Just finished Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. Excellent read! Anything by her is outstanding. My next book- in- waiting is I Feel Bad About My Neck by Nora Ephron- sposed to be light but came well recommended.
ewwwwwwww you have to tell me if its worth reading. I forgot that one. I wanted to read it. I am actually reading some ROLLING STONE magazines I found in my attic. Bags of them from the early 70's......pretty entertaining.........
Nauty..........
Garcia...biography of the late Jerry Garcia..I don't have a lot of time to read so it's taking me a while to get through it. I enjoyed the early parts of the book as it talked about a lot of places with which I'm familiar having grown up in the SF Bay Areain the 60's..Being a fan of the Grateful Dead I enjoy reading all I can get my hands on about them.

I am reading "Bloomsbury Recalled" by Quentin Bell, which his memoir about duh!! the Bloomsbury group of artists/writers in the 1920's onward in England. Then, I am also reading "Fathers and Sons" by Alexander Waugh which is a biography of his family who were quite great writers, especially his grandfather Evelyn. One of my favorite books was written by Evelyn Waugh - "Brideshead Revisited."
Avis....great question! I love to know what others are reading. It can give some good ideas on what else we may want to delve into next.
Steven Erickson's "Malazan Books of the Fallen" series. (Just finished "Memories of Ice".)
Which si incredible. I haven't read fantasy this exciting and deep since Tolkien.
