A scripture of inspiration got at NA please read

These are just a couple bible scriptures that a fellow friend and recovering addict gave me regarding addiction i am a christian women and thought id share to anyone who is interested:
Psalms 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be astounded. They will put their trust in the Lord.

Romans 5:3-5 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.

Hello!  My sister has 20+ years' clean time and has worked the NA program thoroughly.  She has compiled a list of Biblical verses that parallel the NA program.  I realize through my personal involvement in the program that NA is adamant about being spiritual -- NOT religious -- in nature; however, so many of the NA precepts -- humility, surrender, hope, faith, service to others in need, sharing the message -- are the central themes of the New Testament, at least in my understanding.  There are probably individuals in this forum who shy away from any religious reference, but I wanted to reply to your post anyway.  Thanks for sharing the Biblical passages -- they helped me, and I hope they might help others here, regardless of their religious beliefs or non-beliefs.  Mike
