Anyone you some team effort getting in sahpe?

Before I start I know that there is a diet forum, but it seems lame and we are friends here. I know that myself and a few others would like to lose a few pounds and get into shape before spring. I was thinking maybe we can get a thread going giving support and encouragement for that purpose here. Is anyone interested?

Good fast walking music...Bad Boy Bill Bangin' in London.That got me walking over 4 miles in less than an hour. The techno beat is entrancing, you have to enjoy that kind of music ( I actually do )

Are you not familiar with "muffin tops" dude?  My eldest taught me that one I think last year.  A muffin top refers to the rolls you have on either side of you hangin' over your jeans.....and we've since acquired whole freakin' loaves of bread too, lol....that's the gigantic roll I have over the FRONT of my jeans, lol

Of course, having the above mentioned "bakery" items sticking out of your pants, also makes any crack you may have that sticks out the BACK of your jeans WAY more undesirable...I can't tell you how many times I bend or stoop down to do something and I hear my kid go, "Crack kills!" LOL......

...and in case someone is wondering...NO, this is NOT intentional....Geez, I hate that jeans are so damned low-cut anymore, and I only have ones that are slightly below the waist and I'm still showin' crack when I move sometimes...and on top of that, the tops are all so freakin' short, and even if they AREN'T, the low cut of the pants MAKE them short!  

Good Lord peeps, I'm seriously hopin' for some shortages in the "bakery" soon!

I need to lose like 30 pounds. And to lose that I really don't know what to do, dancing is what I do now, and I've lost 10 pounds in 3 months so far doing that...
Justice is a good band to dance along to. Especially the song called D.A.N.C.E, lol.
And Daft Punk, The Knife, Freezepop. I like the IDM and techno-ey stuff. Imogen Heap is good. T.A.T.U, Paul Oakenfold, etc. I need more stuff like that.

I LOVE to dance, and I think that's great that you have the place to do it...wait, I'm assuming you are taking lessons or going to a great place to dance?  While I was on my elliptical rider today, and kinda step-dancing to my tunes in my mp3 player, I was thinking that I'd LOVE to go dancing or take dancing lessons....What a fun way to shed some poundage right?  That's so awesome that you lost that weight!!  

I'll have to check out the rest of your tunes...I don't know them, as I did not, the other one..I had to check it out on YouTube...I'll do that with these new ones later.

Music in the head is such a great distraction and motivation for me...really gets me going and KEEPS me going.  I have a ton-load of music I listen to and at some point, I'll add to the list I have already going and post it to ya...surely there's at least one or two tunes that you'd dig too.  

Are you doing anything differently as far as eating is concerned?  I don't believe in deprivation, or at least, not for me...but I am trying to occasionally substitute some things in my diet...as in, maybe I'd LIKE a MilkyWay Midnight, but I'll eat a Quaker Chocolate Crunch rice cake instead....not ALWAYS....just SOMEtimes...the way I figure, shedding ANY amount of calories has GOT to do SOME good right?  Between that and my increase in activity AND my exercise, I should eventually start to see some sculptin' takin' place on the ol' body.  

I do very well under pressure and I do well when others are involved in whatever it is I'm tryin' to accomplish....so this is a very good thing for me...having a plan, announcing it, and having others to cheer me on, for me to cheer on, and for a little pressure maybe to get my butt in shape again.  

I'm a very stubborn and determined person, so come summer, I expect to post a pic in a bathing suit...oh Lord, now I've gone and done it, LOL

Oh...I almost forgot...I'd like to lose around 15-20 pounds...I'll know when I'm good depending on what clothes fit me again...it's really more about how I feel and look more than it is about the weight ya know?  I just want to get back into some clothes, because I felt great at that size, and I'd like to get my strength back, endurance, and muscle tone as well....

I need to lose about 40 pounds, prior to my Dad's death and changing jobs a couple years ago my wife and I went on a diet and I lost around 60 pounds, she did very well too. I started at 218 and bottomed out at 156. I went from 38" waist to where 32" was getting loose. Since that time I am back up to 205 and I have to be careful what 36" waist pants I wear. Looking back at pictures 156 is too thin for me, I now understand why people would polity ask if I was sick. So my goal is 170 pounds as a mean weight with upper and lower control limits of 165 and 175 pounds respectively.

My plan is going to be walk at least 2 miles daily and reduce my eating, simple plan really eat less, move more, I used the goal of 800 net calories per day the last time and after about two weeks it was working well. That is about 1000 to 1100 calories of food intake and 200 to 300 calories spent by walking or other means.

Ya know that commercial...I think it's for SlimQuick or something...where the woman is on the sofa with her dude?  HE loses a crapload of weight with no sweat and she just looses her boobs?  That better not happen here man, or you may face an angry mob of boobless women-folk! LOL ;)

I think 800 calories a day is WAY too low, let alone for a man...but if you've done it before and think it's a reasonable thing for you to do again...I wish you well with it of course.  Are you sure that after you lose the weight you can maintain it though...I realize you'll probably increase that as you won't have to lose anymore, but still, you won't be able to increase it a ton-load right?

I've been slowly losing weight since I've been off the Lortab, but I could stand to lose quite a bit more!  I'm all for losing weight and getting into shape and the support we can give each other.  Awesome idea!  

But, I wonder if we should really get serious after the holidays!  LOL!!!!  Procrastination is my middle name!  ;) Seriously though, if we watch it now, we won't gain weight during the holidays!  (Or, not much anyway!  LOL!!!!)

Dudette, you have no idea man....I'm THE worst procrastinator in the world!  BUT....I actually started the exercisin' thing a few weeks back and I need to do this now or else I'll get fatter and then think to myself, "you shoulda done this 10 pounds ago, dumba$$!"....SO, I am not a weight-loss cop, if anyone wants to concentrate harder later, that's cool, but as a team member, I'll have to say this:  Start now....this does not mean that you can't eat certain things at all!  I have absolutely NO intention of depriving myself.  I will not get on a scale, and I will not count calories.  I WILL exercise and occasionally change a food choice....JUST exercising SHOULD help because I'll be building muscle and I'll be burning extra calories.  Swaping out a food here and there cuts calories too, without starving.  SO.....even if you start walking, that's a start !

You are so RIGHT!  Exercise is really the key.  For some reason, since being off the Lortab I don't eat as much as I did before.  Of course, I can't eat a lot anyway with my pouch (from the gastric bypass).  But, I still never made it to my goal weight.  I am hopeful that I can reach it!!!!  That would be awesome!  

So, I'm planning on being careful during the holidays, but I will eat some "bad" things - I just know it!  LOL!!!

I lost a ton of weight after stopping the Fentanyl too, but then I started on Lyrica and the weight has increased with each dose increase...it increases the he!! outta your appetite!  I'm steady now, so hopefully that will help...

Everybody:

Some of us here happen to be night-owls...either because we just are, or because we're sufferin' from insomnia or somethin' else....  People who don't get as much sleep tend to be heavier...I personally think, without researchin' why, partly because the body is stressed out as a result, and partly because we often eat when we're up at night...so just be aware of this guys.

Yep the loss of boobs is a biggie, when our woman folk loose weight, for us dudes too. When my wife lost weight I asked her if she thought if I tried hard enough if I could re-inflate them, she saw the humor in my joke but didn't think that would work.
