Are you bored?

I'm sittin' here watchin' t.v. with my eldest.  We're watching Family Guy and they had a cartoon version of Stephen Hawking on.  He speaks via a computerized voice, which reminded my daughter about something on the computer.  If you click on Start, then click on Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices, then click on Speech, you can have your computer say things that you type in.  So of course, we have been playing with this (I should really say I have been doing this, lol).  "Microsoft Sam" says what you type in the long, rectangular box that says:  Use the following text to preview the voice.  He will respond appropriately if you punctuate with a question mark versus a period too.  

I know this is completely immature but hey, it DOES have a good purpose....dominosarah has no voice right now because she's sick.  She could simply type in what she wants to say to her family and bingo!  She could even use it to have a phone conversation....See that, I'm merely making everyone aware of this helpful tool....I'm not bein' a six year-old, lol  ;-)

Thats a good idea for sara .Although she did just share with me that she was able to communicate with the mister tonight by using a "friendly' finger gesture when he laughed at her for trying to holler at the dog......I do miss her colorful vocabulary though,so I hope she gets that voice back real soon.

Too bad you can't send messages to other peoples computers and have it talk to them. That could be a blast and a bit freaky.

LOL guys, There was a one hour period last night where I swear, I did not utter a single syllable out of my own mouth.  It was alot of fun.  Interestingly enough too, my youngest could hear and understand the voice all the way upstairs...which I challenged and asked her why she is "deaf" when I yell to her upstairs and ask her to do something.  She insists that Microsoft Sam's voice is louder than mine, lol  Even Andy found this amusing once he came home.  It's good clean fun people.....ahem, well, NOT when I use this particular feature, lol, but still....it COULD be good clean fun.  ;-)
