Can't get out of this slump>depression

I have been off of suboxone since Oct. 6, had some really bad depression for a few days and it passed.  But, i am still in this slump.  I really don't want to do anything but sleep and am hard pressed on that, though it is getting better.
yogi sleepy time tea, melatonin plus other stuff and a lunesta.  But, this funk i am in is really getting old.  I just feel like crying.  Someone please tell me it will pass soon.  Will i ever be normal again?  I am thinking i should get my anti depressant increased from 10 to 20, lexapro.  please give me your opinions.
Thanks, TJack

Only time will tell if it will pass.   Most of the time it definitely gets better.   Whether or not it will get better enough not to need an increase in the lexapro, i wouldnt know.

I do know that off opiates i feel more like being around people and doing fun things, eventually.  At first though, i still feel like isolating.

Hang tough.   If you dont feel better naturally then perhaps an increase will be the route to go.  Congrats on getting off the sub!

Thank you tzt for some words of encouragement.  I feel like such a wus, but this stuff is real.  No, it isn't bad like withdrawals i know, because i have been there and wouldn't wish that on anyone, but it is still real and won't go away.
I just made myself go to a retirement lucheon and use to I would have been the life of the party with just one margarita.  Today it wasn't even fun.  Couldn't wait to get out of there.  God has really taught me a lesson on compassion for people and what they are going through.  I never had a clue.  I didn't have any idea of what people were going through when they were on drugs, coming off drugs or going through this other stuff.  Now, my heart goes out to them.
Thanks so much.TJack

I can totally relate to what you are saying....I did ask my doctor if i can up my dose to 20 mgs because i felt depressed..He said that was fine..That was at the end of detox...IT did help me, then i went back down to 10...It is worth a try ..
Good luck

I had to switch from Lexapro to Cymbalta to help with the depression as I got off the drugs.  I'm taking 60mg daily now and that has really made a difference.  It took about 3 weeks to kick in, but I don't feel down or edgy anymore - I seem to have lots of energy..almost too much!!

Thank you both for your combacks.  It helps to know i am not the only one going through this garbage, or has gone through it.   I will call my doc on Monday and get the lexapro upped.   I tried the Cymbalta and it made me very nauseated.  maybe just upping the lexapro for awhile will do it.  We also have a lightbox coming, actually for my husband but i can't wait to sit by it.  It can't hurt.  I am in oregon, where the clouds and rain are pretty much here now for months.  Which usually doesn't bother me until after Christmas and then we go to Yuma and so. cal. for a few weeks of sun.
r2r, you have been such an encourager to me.  You have helped me all through this getting off hydro>on the sub and now even more.  Thank you and also you lurker and tzt.  TJack

thanks, i know for me i tried every SSRI they made and cymbalta was the worst for me, sick to me stomach..Lexapro was great..now when i went up to 20 , i felt muc better the next day..But i did n't  want to stay on 20 until the mental part of this was better...So i went back down to 10 no problem...I eventually want to get off of that too.But one thing at a time...I will look into some of the natural things..
Good luck and lets us know how you are doing..
i have to say you do sound so much better, hang in there k...

I'm in Washington and the weather is a huge factor.  I work with a woman who has one of those lightboxes and she says it really makes a difference when we have weeks of gloomy weather.  Good luck!!

I have a happy light, and love it. have had it for three years. the doc ordered. If you look into my appartment in that room, you will think I am growing something ,,,,????? Living in  Minnesota and winters here can be unbearable. Light is good.

Thank you all.   I think my deal is actually my brain trying to get normal again, but i did call dr. and i will be taking 20mg lexapro for a while.  So by the time that kicks in and i have 5 days in Hawaii, how will i know what help? i mean after the lightbox is here!  I will give credit to all of it.  lonote, how many min. do you use your light a day?  doc told us start at 15 and work up to 60.  Then if you feel too hyper back it down.   Can that really happen?  I can't wait!  Thanks gang. You aren't being funny.  It is an honest concern and you may be right.  Why don't you try them for awhile and see.   You can always quit taking them.  I am female and have not noticed any problem.  But, to tell you the truth this whole drug process has had me pretty well not myself since Oct. 6.  that was my last suboxone.  Good luck Brian.  Take them and if they cause you a problem try a different anti depressant .   Wellbutrin isn't suppose to have that side affect?
