Consitpated & sharp pains in stomach

Consitpated & sharp pains in stomach

I have been taking suboxone for about 3 months now... I take half a 8mg a day (4mg), mon-fri.  It works perfectly, except i cant poop. I go to the bathroom maybe once or twice a week. But now I have a sharp pain under my left ribs that i felt before when i was using percocets & oxycotin. When i do poop it feels like its a brick coming out. Its the worst pain in the world, What can i do to "go to the bathroom" daily so i wont feel this pain.  Does anyone else have this problem with suboxone? Not being able to go to the bathroom daily and having sharp pains on the side of your stomach. Please this is serious problem and i may have to stop taking subs to avoid this. I am almost ready to stop taking them anyway since i think i am strong enough. Please help me.

Hey Joe!

I really think you need to call the doctor who prescribed the Sub. Honestly.

Please do so and let us know how you are doing.

I had this problem the week I took Sub every day.  I never had the problem with lots of narcotics, but did have it with Sub.  My sub doctor recommended Senna 2 tabs twice a day and stool softeners also.  I had to take a double dose of milk of magnesia once too.  What if anything have you tried??

THis is very common with use of Sub. I feel like it causes MORE constipation than I had on other pain pills. I took Sub for 10 days and I think I only went #2 once maybe twice in those 10 days. HIgh doses of calcium/magnesium liquid helps me when i need to go. Or I take one Fiber pill and one stool softner and that also usually helps.  I would talk to the doc who gave you the Sub there may be a med he can give you to help this.

I just started taking the Subutex - and I am on the same dosage as you...and I actually have the exact same problem.
I was thinking about going and getting something from the drug store - but instead I went to my chiropractor.

the chiropractor felt around my abdomen and found the blockage....he pushed down on it and rubbed it around a little, I mean the pressure was a good amount (his pressure on my abdomen). I could feel where he worked it out on my belly for a few days and then BINGO. I went to the bathroom this morning and all it well. It took a day and a half after I saw him.
He also reccomended I eat Yogurt. Any yogurt will do, but he reccommended Activa (you seen the commercials?) maybe eat 2 or 3 a day? see how that does.

it worked for me, maybe it will work for you.
I hope you feel better soon.
