Day 3 on Suboxone

Just my little update for anyone curious about Suboxone. .............Yesterday I felt a little high after taking my afternoon dose 2mg.  So tomorrow I am going to try only 1 mg in the afternoon.  So far everything is very good .  No cravings, have energy and not depressed.  Had a little trouble getting to sleep, but nothing awful.  Have alot of pain in my hips , just like I was in withdrawal. Hopefully this will ease up in a few days.  I don't feel drug free by any means though. Still a little spacey. Although this could be my normal state. lol   Hope everyone has a great day !

Wow great posts ! Thank you all. I know counseling is going to be a big part of my recovery. I just can't go backwards anymore ! Just can't do it. I will do what ever it takes for recovery. I must get this sub dose right first, as I have had a few awful days since this post.  It has taken away my cravings, or is hiding them somewhere to attack me later. lol Thanks for your responces. I need all the info I can get.   Mary

thanks for the compliments..it didn't take much thought to post cause it came from the school of ' Been there Done that", "School of Hard Knocks and skined knees"...lol.:).

to answer your question..i worked down from 16mgs per day..down to 2mgs per day and stayed on the 2mgs until i ran out October 21st 2007.
i was in mini withdrawals coming down to 2mgs..but not un-bearable..just very edgy and un-comfortable..if i got to much on edge i would scrap a small chip off it it would seem to help me thru...
there was no way i can see someone jumping at 16 mgs per day..it would be a white knuckle ride the strongest would have a hard time with..Sub is wicked stuff..very close to methadone..just not as dangerous with the OD situation

Anyhow...after my last does of 2mgs..i started my W/D'S the day after..i planed it out best i could..i had 4 days vacation left..so i took them giving me 6 days to do battle.....the withdrawls were not as bad as the #15 per day 10mg lortab w/ds...but it was still W/D'S in a little blue dress instead of a leather jacket and a bull whip...lol..

the w/d's seemed to drag on a little longer...day 14 was the day i started to feel a glimer of hope...each day would be better and better..some days i would not feel so well..( little aniexty)......

Do i have urges..'YES"...Probably not so much physically as mentally..i know how good a couple of 10mg lortabs would make me feel.....but i keep thinking of all the hard work, the NASTY WD'S...the ball and chain of having to worry about how many pills you have left..the wasted money.....SCREW THAT...and i know i like it so well..all it would take is one pill and i am off the wagon.....I LOVE THE STUFF..i just cannot pay the price any longer....i am an addict for life...like many...i realize although i get stronger each day..those pills are doing push-ups right beside me..

I did do some couseling...and i am not in couseling now..but i am back in church and letting my soul and spirit heal...

Well that was an excellent post brian./livingthelie gave you. And condrads to Brian for being off the suboxon 101 days. I must ask how its been? Any urges? Do you go to meetings? You see allaboutmary, the sucess comes after the subox and what you/we do with it. Meetings or counceling. And I bet my last dollar a councelor will suggest meetings cause thats what I don't want to here. That when the growth comes in and I open my mind to it. And if I fight it tooth and nail its enevitable it will happen, cause I don't always be goofy in the head.     Cathy -if theres hope for me then theres hope for anyone.

i was on SUB for 15 Months...its very positive that you have taken this step in becoming clean..but one thing i hear so much of is people getting on SUB and confusing it with being Clean..please understand being on SUB is not clean..its a very potent narcotic mixed with other ingredients that keep you from injecting or taking other drugs to get high.

its s partial antagonist vs full antangonist....it gives your brain time to heal from the damage opiated has done to your Brain.


its a very postive drug when used properly with other counseling etc.....be aware you are taking a POWERFUL narcotic...stay on a low as does as possible..there are withdrawals that will accompany stopping the ise of SUB.

pLEASE DO YOUR HOMEOWORK ON THIS DRUG..
