Day 6- Music Helps

OK- I made it to day 6 and the improvement is amazing. I have had several people unaware of what I have been through, tell me I seem to be in a great mood. I am sleeping and have little anxiety. I know this is a work in  progress and I am not foolish enough to believe I wont be tempted but I like my chances.

Thank you for everything. I will continue to lurk and maybe throw in some thoughts from time to time.

I will tell you that music helped me, despite how bad I felt during wd. It helps now and helps me face another day. Particularly, Wilco ( Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and Sky Blue Sky) and Darklands by Jesus and Mary Chain. Play the latter as loud as you can take it.

Congratulations on day 6!!  Isnt it so much better then day 1.  Music helps me too - helps to process some of the emotions I am going through.

Hi.......I haven't yet spoken with ya' all, but I just wanted to say congrats!!  That is so awesome DAY 6!!  WHEW HEW!!  I just saw your post on music.  I am still taking my meds for pain, but tzt helped me to get back in control of them (that's why I came to this site.....I got way, way out of control all of the sudden for a couple of weeks.....doing much better now).  

Anyway........I just had to tell everyone about my absolute FAVORITE song to help you all through some rough times..............R.E.M. "Everybody Hurts"!!  IT'S THE BEST!!!!  Crank it as loud as you can on your iPod and I PROMISE it will help get you through a rough time.

Like the song says................"HOLD ON................HOLD ON!!!!!!!"

I love that song too.  Back in the 90's I would listen to it so often.  I am going to have to load that on my ipod.

I always read your posts.  I'm SO, SO glad that song helped you all.  ISN'T IT A GREAT SONG!!!  Even though I'm no where as successful as you all to quit this stuff.  It was still hell to get to 15/day  without the Oxy!!!  YEA!!!  That song makes me cry everytime I listen to it.  I just want to hug that R.E.M. guy (can't remember his name right now) who wrote that song.  He just has no idea how much that song helps people!!!!  It's just a PERFECT song!

Just play it over and over if you all have to.
