Day one

Well I sat down with my husband and mom, and we realized we couldn't afford for me to do the in-patient rehab. So they are staying with me and want me to go cold turkey. It has only been a few hours and I am not really feeling too much except RLS, and worn down. I am really scared of whats to come though. Any suggestions, or thoughts about whats ahead? I am not looking forward to this and I would much rather be on some sort of program, but it's hard to do when I have already put us in so much debt. Please anyone out there to talk??? Will be checking most of the night since I can't really sleep.

I'm not sure what it was you were taking...my suggestion would be to get to the ER if you can and tell them your situation and ask for Clonidine (a blood pressure med that has helped MANY of us with opiate withdrawl (withdrawal) symptoms) something for nausea and perhaps something for the anxiety that is sure to come.  If your husband/mom will help you with that it will make things much easier for you (and them)..For me clonidine was a miracle drug when getting off of vicodin.  It does have some side effects (dry mouth and sleep inducing) but they are easy to put  up with.
