Effexor XR. Beware

Has anyone gotten off effexor XR successfully?  I need help and fast.

Hi Anti-depressant are drur that take time to work,some say 3-6 weeks,so in my opinion get the prescribing physican to take you off with medical safety, goodluck john

effexor, if reduced too suddenly can cause extreme anxiety and panic. rarely is it serious. but....if you have run out you need to contact your physician for samples or whatever you need until you can safely return to a normal level. do not panic. this anti depressent has strong side effects going into therapeutic levels and out of them. it is a good drug though with proper monitoring.

I have intimate experience with Effexor XR and in order to get off it, you have to taper.  It depends on how much you take when looking into tapering.  It is unwise to go cold turkey since the side effects can be brutal.  What is causing your distress?

i have i was on it for 7yrs for anxiety, stopd it for 2yrs and am back on again  cause of my anxiety. i had no problems at alls topping it though.. i think its in ur head,.

I stopped Effexor XR cold turkey.  It was difficult, but I got through it.  Now I am not on any meds.
