Endocet/Oxycocet

I have been on endocet and oxycocet on a regular basis for about 1.5 years. It started to be a regular thing due to a kidney stone condition which still exists, and for which no other medication can provide me any relief. I've had the stones blasted twice and they keep returning, so its easy for me to get the meds. I have been off them cold turkey now for about 2 weeks and am going crazy. I am so moody, can't sleep but am a professional, so I have to function at 110% every day. I am so desperate to just go to my dr and get more meds, but am afraid because prior to running out of the last prescription, I was taking three pills, two or three times per day. I can't admit this to anyone but feel physically and mentally terrible. How long is this supposed to last? Is there anything I can take in the interim?

Hi Stuart and Welcome to the Forum!

The good news is that you were not on the meds for a long period of time..relatively speaking. I don't imagine that the withdrawal was too too bad. However, after two weeks you should definately be feeling better.

If you don't mind me asking, is mental or physical right now? there is a reason I am asking.

Question:
I started out by taking oxycocet for a few years (1994 approx).recently been taking oxycontin now I was on 60..I would take a 40 and a 20 four times a day took them for almost two yrs..I had fallen again and landed on my back ..got x-rays and found out I really hurt my 5th vertabre or whatever.well the past two months I been taking 80mg..four times a day I take them at 6am 12pm and again at 6pm then bedtime 12am ..the drug store pharmacy girl dont like me taking them at all !! I told her I was already going back to my Dr and put me back to 60's.She even talk to my son about how she felt about me takin them ..now he is all worried ..I thought it was confidential?..
Anyhow I feel better on 60's and I dont feel this "high" feeling everyone is talking about..I feel normal,and most of the time no one knows when I am on them..I feel fine I am just plain pain free and I can walk around without being bent over and my knee dont give in and my wrist/hands I can function..and at times I can play with my grandchildren with being almost in tears with pain.
without them I feel so useless I cant do the housework,or bake,clean outside,or play with my grandchildren..now thats depressing!
Let me know if I am so wrong??

thank you for telling me I am on the wrong site but just wanted to tell someone and see if they..or someone, thinks I am addicted to this so called "well talked about med.".oxycontin..what is so bad about them..I am just a country girl..that is not up to these so called things..thank you anyways..

I am 55 years old and I take 4 endocets a day for pain. I have been on them for 2 years or more and don't get the same relief anymore I am going to see my //dr. next week and was wondering if there is somethig else I can take to help with my painn. Thanks Wendy

Your beginning statement  jolted me .because it is exactly the same condition as myself and I am getting really afraid of addiction . I also have problems with kidney   stones. I am allergic to codiene and demeral drugs so they prescribe oxecocets .I take  two at a time for two months twice a day. If I dont take them I cant sleep and get extremly edgey. I quit smoking cold turkey years ago it was two packs a day but this seems  much more  difficult  , do  you have any suggestions for me . No one in my family knows about this because I am afraid to dicuss it. I am a manager of my brothers bussiness and so far  it is  not affecting that but im sure it could get to that point. Help
