wow, congrats on 2 years, im on my 38th day clean from coke and i was feeling great until today. i went to the hospital spitting up blood and got scared. everyone with addiction has setbacks or bad days, but i think it makes us stronger each time. im proud of you for staying off this evil drug for so long, definately an inspriation to us all.i guess its true what they say, that coke always stay with you, but it can't be as bad as when you first quit, i know its not for me anyway, stay stong.
Give yourself a pat on the back for two years!! Sometimes our minds just drift back to a time or place where you may have used and the thought just popped in or you may have seen a movie that brought you back, it's normal. Next time you think about coke and a pepsi instead. lol
don't feel bad, i always just played with coke,, the high passed too fast for me,, and just today I tried to hook some up. Addiction stays with us forever waiting for a cracker, all we can do is not feed it. you are going thru a slump, as time passes something good will happen to raise your spirits as long as you don't give up before it happens
After a multiple year history of the white which even landed me in a Federal Prison - I would still be tempted today if a pile were placed in front of me....and thats been...oohhhh- about 30 some years! Don't feel badly that it's still getting to you. Make sure that you are doing the right vitamins and supplements - they are important. An antidepressant could be in order, but thats not my field. Anyway - you are normal. And you are doing a more than normal job addressing that coke habit. Best of luck to you
Congrat's on 2 years! That is WONDERFUL to read.
As for 'normal after 2 years of being clean' - I'm sure other, more experienced folks will chime in here shortly. As for me, I am on 16th day of sobriety and doing fine. The cravings/desire take place less and are also less intense.
I think we always have a 'bit' of depression - and somehow the drugs help us fine a 'happier place' - thus, you'll always want/desire that happy place again. The Holiday's might also have something to do with it - I know a lot of people struggle during this time of the year.
The way I battle depression is to 'treat' myself very well - go see a movie, spend some 'me time', etc.
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
