Feeling Low....

Well, just to show you guys and gals starting to get clean that it's not always roses....I feel like total **** today. I have a few months now and my good days are much more frequent than the bad ones. But, for some reason, today I've just felt..well...BAD. It could be a cold or flu coming on (my wife has something), or it could just be me healing myself after 5 years of opiate abuse. I also have to admit that a few "pick me up" pills of various flavors crossed my  ind today...LOL Days like today just plain suck..but, I know that one more pill will not solve any of my problems. Just wanted to post this to "tell" on myself a little..and, to show people very early on that bad days DO come occasionally..and you WILL get through them.

Us long term users, are going to have these issues. I know what you mean by the dreading doing this and that. I do that alot, but once I get rolling or start it........I am like, why was a sweating this??

we know that life is going to throw curve balls at us. no matter what comes our way, lots of issues can be REASONS. you know damn well its  NO reason or excuses to take one. plus one wont do squat anyhow, and the alternative is  fall right back where we were......

on a side note, sorry to see what has happend to you guys down there. I wish you guys all the best in returning back to normal.

You've been there for all of us, so don't think for one second that we won't be there for you to try and pick you back up. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Looks like the thoughts and prayers worked. My meeting went well today. Which is a lesson learned...I always worry like heck over things..and the NEVER are even half as bad as I envisioned. Just this stinkin' way of thinkin' I have. Plus..the cold I thought I was going to get never materialized. I will be honest, the way I felt yesterday would have turned into a relapse 5 months ago. It's scary but the honest and complete truth. 5 months ago I WOULD have taken probaly a benzo and some oxy to get over the feeling. But, I've learned tools to help me cope. I went to a meeting, I called my sponsor, I posted on here and admitted to feeling like ****. Relapses happen over time for me. They result from feeling bad and not doing anything about it. I've learned a few things over these few months and it's nice to be able to handle things a bit. Anyway, thanks for listening guys and let me know if I can ever help any of you.

For months on end your body will be pushing all of the colds and every sickness you had... that we all hid from ourselves by taking opiates... but you are one of the stronger helpers on here... keep in touch Ga Guy ... went to my first meeting yesterday.

Thanks guys..I've been trying this rigorous honesty thing from my NA meetings and it seems to be working LOL Anyway, you guys and gals are just too dang cool sometimes (and give me kudos I don't deserve). People gave to me when I first came here, and people at my NA/AA meetings gave freely to me as well. I feel it's a privilege to give back a little. Hope you all are having a good night..and, thanks again for the kind words.

You always impress me with your honesty.......   when life/sobriety is good you are always right there with great words of wisdom and encouragement,  with real life stories, saying  exactly how it is (or your experience)  ..  but also being strong enough to say  when life really *****........ and you know what,  life does suck sometimes  and  yeah we all feel like *h*t  at times  ..........  that is life and reality,  not always a great time.  But  for you that is not an excuse to use,  you are  just saying  "it what it is",  you may not like it,   but you will continue with your dedication and stregnth to a life that you so richly deserve.

I respect you, for IMHO, being so realistic  and sharing reality  especially when so many are looking for a magic answer and thinking  life will be perfect once they get thru w/d's or stop using for a few weeks or months.

I guess I just wanted to say thank you for being so very real......  oh  :)  and I hope you are feeling a lot better in a day or two.....  maybe three??  Take good care of you always!!

Thank you for sharing   and most importantly for always being you. For your conviction.  You help more people with your honesty than I think you realize.
