I just wanted to stop by and let you know I am still breathing :). I am having a struggle and will get through this. I hope everyone is fighting the good fight. If you fall down, get right back up. Get up so many times that you will tire of it. I am thinking and praying for all of you. You are all decent people and deserve a life of happiness. I have been gone for a few days and realized how much I missed you all. I read a few posts to see how everyone is doing. I see the support, kindness and love in the posts you leave for people. This is such a caring community and I never expected how much I care about you all. Mangee is our wise man and I never skip a post of his. I learn too much from it and he has such a way with words. How lucky his family is.

Take care all and I will be in and out.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((thread hug)))))))))))))))

God Bless,
Tim

Gosh I missed you and am sooooo glad to see your name on here again.  Even if you are in and out, I am happy to have you around as much as you can.  I saw your post on mine.  Thank you.  I feel as if I know you too, like we are long time friends.  Kind of weird, but I guess when you share your secrets with someone, there is an intimacy there that draws us in closer.  Am I even making sense??

Anyway, I am glad you are around and so happy that you get to share in Sally's success.  Even today was a really hard day, some stuff happened at work that was really upsetting, but she got through it without running to the pharmecy and she has gotten honest with her therapist and our doctor.  I am so freaking proud of her.  She is really giving it her all and it is amazing to look into her eyes and see her soul every time.

Please hang in there, Tim.  I can't and won't even pretend how hard it must be, but I know you can do it.  I just know you can.  I miss you, too, you know.  Hope you have a great night and hope to hear from you again soon.

love,

Debs

PS  Our eyes are red and our sinuses are clogged but we are far enough away that we are safe.  My oldest son's high school is a rescue center, but he lives in lake forrest which is where the irvine and sanitago canyon fires are burning.  He is safe though.  Sally lived in San Diego for 20 years so she is sad about the fires there.  Don't know if you remember, but this happened in 2003 as well.  My friend just left his house to the bank last week to move to DC and I am pretty sure it has not survived.  So we are hoping and praying for this to stop soon and praying for so, so many that have lost their homes.

Hi all,
I ventured on here the other day because I was afraid and pretty sure my sister is up to her eyeballs in cocaine.  It has really weighed heavily on my heart and I don't know how to help her.  All of your stories are so inspirational, so I thought I would share one of my own.  About 6 years ago my mother passed away after a 12 year illness.  It was just a horrible time.  My doctor perscribed xanax for me, and it was a God send getting me thru the last stages of her illness, the funeral, etc.  Long story short, I ended up addicted.  I never took more than was perscribed, was taking .5 mg 3 x day.  I stopped several times and got so sick - it never occurred to me that I was addicted.  It caused me to be unfocused, drowsy at night, and overall a different person.  My husband questioned me and I denied it of course.  After a few years of this, my husband spoke with my doctor, who confronted me when I went back for a refill.  With my doctor's help, I was able to taper off.  It was not easy, but I did it.  Today i have been off of them for 9 months!!  I am like a different person.  I am truly happy, enjoying life, my job, and yes, even sex which was non existent for a while.  So for all who are struggling, please know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  I think back now to how I felt while on the meds and wonder who that person was - it certainly wasn't the real me.  I will pray for all of you to have success, health and happiness.  Do not give up, and if I can help anyone in any way, please contact me.  God bless.

Lynn

Thanks so much for sharing your story. We need more success storys on here and it really helps those that are thinking of quiting or just starting recovery. Congrats to you and best of luck. You stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. Can you tell baseball is on my mind??? I am from Boston and my Sox are in the world series, lol.

I'm hanging in there.  I actually have been through a very rough few weeks, but one of the down sides of the private messenger is that I didn't post about it; I just shared with a couple of people via the messenger.  I guess I should post about it, but there's that constant battle I fight about not wanting to be the needy one.  I am better though and off to recertify so I can work with the youth in Marion County.  I think I'm even going to be fingerprinted.
Have a wonderful day,
Linda
