Ganglion Cyst

Anyone ever heard of this??

I am being my own google MD at the moment.  My wrist has been hurting a bit for a few months (from kickboxing and push-ups no doubt at all).. so recently my right wrist has develped a large protruding, what looked to me like bone, sticking out of the top (middle).  It looks TERRIBLE when I bend the wrist down.

So initially I thought nothing of it but its get larger.  I thought maybe I displaced something, but am not having that kind of pain but it is hurting.  Not killing but definitely sore.

So I googled and low and behold it looks like a Gaglion Cyst which is common in the wrist.  I compared google pics to my wrist and it appears to be the same thing.

Anyone heard of this? Had this? Treated this?

Thanks.

(I always end up f'ing myself up when I do good things for myself.  Pilates=fractured/ruptured L4-5 disc.  Now kickboxing = Gaglion Cyst.  Getting old *****.. even though I am only 30!)

The "Bible thumping" is essentially old style surgery..........you whack the cyst with huge and heavy book and it smashes the area where the cyst leaks from muscle/tendon sheath and releases the exudate to other body areas............sort of primitive....

yep i had one on one of my wrists years ago too. it was exactly as you described. I had it drained twice and it finally didnt come back. Sometimes they can "cure" them by draining, other times they have to be surgically removed. Maybe you'll get lucky and not need the surgery for it
