God Bless Electricity

We've been without power since 1145PM Thursday and it just came back on today (Saturday) around 5PM..thankfully my generator performed well and we had one nice warm room, a working fridge and happy fish with warm water in their tanks..also thanks to our battery back up sooper dooper whizbang very expensive basement water proofing system, the basement is dry as a bone...absolutely the best investment we ever made...we've had power outages where we've had up to 4-5 inches of water in the basement and a lot of ruined stuff.

We had heavy winds Thursday night...gusting up to 55 MPH and it looks like a tornado went through the area...I though we'd be out for several days.  Thanks to the had working crews, we were not..and I made it a point of thanking those that I saw...there are still hundreds of thousands without power in the state (New Hampshire)

wow Jim! Im glad you finally got Juice turned back on! I hate it when we lose power for even an hour or two!! Ive never had to live w/out it for days and hope i never do! Glad you had a generator to help you through!

Wow I can't imagine that happening in the freezing cold.  I did have to go without power for almost two weeks after hurricane Charlie. It was just the opposite though.  The temp was close to 100 and you can only get so naked. lol
What do people do that don't have generators ?  I'm freezing just thinking about it.

a lot of people without generators try to get hotel rooms but they go pretty quickly..or they go stay with friends/relatives who do have power. last year we had an ice storm and we were out 5 days..The generator/ sump pump system was a lifesaver or our basement would have been floating and we would have frozen...this time it really wasn't all that cold.
