Homeless man-Ted Williams

Has anyone been following the story of this homeless man that lived on the streets and was addicted to drugs and alcohol most of his life and now has over 2 years clean? They call him the man with the golden voice and just a few days ago he was living in a tent, begging for money and food and now he has offers for jobs everywhere. The cleveland cavaliers also want to hire him and give him a place to live. He just got to see his Mom after not seeing her since the 80's and he is so grateful.

I think this is such a heartwarming story and I am SOOOOO happy for him. Here is the link.

I saw him on the Today Show yesterday.  He was busy too!   He has 9 kids!!  

I hope he makes it!  He's sure getting a great start to a new life.  Very lucky...

Did anyone else hear that Ted Williams just got into some kind of trouble with the law?  I don't know any real details just wondering if anyone else heard something.  I hope I'm wrong, it's the first great story I've seen on the news in so long and it would be so discouraging if something bad did happen.

I heard about that today. Not sure the details yet, but what I read was him and his daughter got into some argument at the hotel and the cops came? I hope this guy makes it, things are hitting him too fast in my opinion. To be homeless and a couple days later on tv shows and all the attention is a lot to handle.

I absolutely agree.  I thought the exact same thing today.  Here's this guy, on the streets for who knows how long, also a former addict like myself, and all of a sudden BAM he's a star.  The media today is insane.  I just hope he gets the financial and emotional guidance and the serious advice he's going to need to handle all of this.  I so want him to do well!  It would be nice to see one story like this end well.  Just one.

I read it this evening,,it was with his daughter and they just took them both in until they calmed down,,LAPD said it wasnt a big deal,,,just a disturbance,,,but I sure hope he gets guidance like imdone said,,,

I think he is on dr phil today. I am so not a dr phil fan and haven't watched it for awhile, but I think I will today. I heard he was drinking the other night and was asking for valium? I hope I didn't read that right tho. BE GOOD TED!

The media will have a hay day with him now.  He wont be able to have a glass of water without someone making it into a drink of some sort.  The media only hears what they think they hear.  I am going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt here.  Dr Tool should make everything all better!!  I will have to watch this today even tho it will hurt!!
