Mary.........Yes, I can't stand people who do that !!!! My friend used to do that all the time and the dog was good about not going into the street, or going far away...until it happened. We were all out in a place called "Hisperia" its' a place where dirt bike riders go, and meth-heads.....lol. I would find piles of white bottles of cold medicine out there......that was bad. Anyway, It finally happened .....we were all around the campfire and guess who disappeared?.....cookie. Luckily she was found about a 1/4 mile away...they found in in complete darkness in the middle of no where....thank god, but they didn't do that anymore. she was tied up that night and in the future.
I live right next to a park and school and see this all the time. People walking by without their dogs leashed, so I hide on my balcony and yell out......"Next time try a leash".....lol. I am such a coward.....
Stupid people.
Nauty............
Nauty........I agree. I see so many dogs not leashed. Yesterday I was met at the compound by two beautiful dogs (golden retrever and yellow lab). They were just roaming around loose. They didn't even have collars on. I'm sure they lived close by and I could tell they were well taken care of.....but.......no collars ...nothing.
The golden dropped onto her back so I could rub her belly. They really were so sweet, but all it would take is a speeding car.
It wouldn't be right not to have a "token doggie" in the White House. I can't remember when there ever wasn't one?........
Poor 'buddy" Clinton should be the advocate for "putting your dog on a leash" !!!!!
I do think it should be a blinged-out pitbull, though.......lol.......I guess we will all wait with anticipation !!!!
Nauty..........
No way those little girls will let him break that promise. They will have a puppy by summer. It's one thing we can count on. lol
Yup - the first broken promise! LOL!!!!
A FREAKIN HYPOALLERGENIC PUPPY........I HEARD THAT WAS BULL. THEY DONT HAVE THE PUPPY YET, DO THEY?........HMMM IS THAT OBAMA'S FIRST BROKEN PROMISE?.....LOL
I hear its now 8 bucks a week?.........its like the stock market.......what?
No Puppies !!.........
Puppies for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yes there will be a puppy ! (can't promise the rainbow though) lol
Yeah, I live in California and I am looking forward to all those career criminals being let out into the streets.
We have to consider that there are going to be things we are going to have to sacrifice in order to make things better. Are a lot of us doing that now?.......Nothing is perfect and I am willing to give him a chance. I did not expect rainbows and puppies when I voted for him, and I'm not setting my sights on high. I honestly dont' think it would have mattered if it were McCain or Obama......change was in need and could not be overlooked by whomever was elected. So, his lack of experience is my only concern.
I didn't see a whole lot of difference, though. I still see the rich reaping the benefits, just a few more bones being thrown to the middle and lower classes........is that change?......don't really see it........
Time will tell, and I'm not going to try to judge until at least next year.
Nauty................
Sorry to butt in on you guys , his very first agenda was to make sure That Gitmo prison is closed without even knowing where the prisoners would go to and the one or two returned have gone back to Yemen to terrorise us another day, The next thing he did was to have an intervue with Air Aribia ,the first one as the president of the United states, lets see.. next ,the children of illegal aliens will now get health insurance,,, also 57.000 prisoners are being let out of California prisons because the health care they get in prison is inadequate.. most of America doesnt have health care but that has not been addressed yet......Yup and I voted for him aswell
I think Obama knows nothing about the economy. From what I have read......It doesn't sound realistic??? what is he thinking. i haven't had access to the whole 1100 page proposal, but from what I have seen..........Oiy. I guess we shall see, and I just want to say enjoy your 13 dollars a week..........how are you gonna spend it?........ I really hope Obama puts the hammer down on those non-tax paying, bank stealing, exec's that are just entitling themselves to the cookie jar.........
Only time will tell if this is going to work.
Nauty............
I hope it's 4 million jobs! We need them! By the way, I don't want the $13 per paycheck. But, it's mandatory and the thing is it's a credit and it will have to be paid back at some point - just can't figure out how or when. I just wish they would have done a stimulus package without throwing all the other stuff in there. Oh well, it's done now! But, I disagree with how it's being done and what's in the bill. I'm honestly not trying to be negative, but I'm not happy so far. I pray that things will improve all the way around, but I'm really started to doubt things will change anytime soon.
I hope you have a great day at work! Hugs, Janet
They are shooting for 4 million jobs. Obama said it must have the potential to create that many or he wouldn't go for it. Off to work I go. Have a great day.
Actually, the part about paying for birth control and abortions in other countries was not part of the stimulus - it was done within the first 3 days President Obama was in office. Today I just heard that we will see about a $13 increase in our paychecks each tme we get paid - WOW! I can't wait to go out and start spending more money now! LOL!!! Sorry, that just makes me laugh!
Hopefully, and I'm trying to be optimistic the rest of the bill will help - but I am having a difficult time believing that. I guess creating 15,000 jobs is good - but I thought it was supposed to be sooooo much more? I still need to finish it though.
Have fun remodeling! I know you're missing your politics! But, I don't think you'll have too much to worry about because I think the political arena is about to become even more charged than become. :)
Hugs,
Janet
HelpinUtah............wow, no I didn't get to read the whole stimulus and have never heard mention of birth control for people in other countries. I thought birth control and treatment for STD's was one of the first things they compromised on with the republicans to cut out of the bill. I wish I had more time to pay attention right now. I'm usually on top of whats going on, but remodeling the house is taking up all my time. I can't wait to be done and move in ( so I can get back to my politics)lol
Have a great day. Mary.
Well, have any of you actually read the stimulus package all the way through that he wanted passed? I haven't finished it yet - but boy - it's not just a stimulus package so much more! I'm not happy that we are going to pay for birth control/abortions for people outside this country. That was one of his first executive orders. I suppose I should have just said NO COMMENT.
He inherited a mess, keep that in mind. I think he is doing well so far and of cours no one will agree with everything he does or does not do. However, I hope dems and rep alike and step up to the plate and do what is best for us instead of what is best for the linings of their pockets. I think if anyone can make that happen it is Obama. I also appreciated him coming to fl and talking to US . I thought that was a nice touch instead of simply watching him talk on tv.
Everything this president does will be under the microscope, so no matter what he does, he will catch heat.So far, he has done some very positive things, like providing more children with health care.I am angry that my cigarettes are being taxed AGAIN, but we have to start somewhere, and I see no point in complaining, I should quit smoking anyways, and I am for anything that will help children stay healthy!
He said during the campaign that he would not have any lobbyist in his administration, now there are two. I too listened to his talk, I think it is important that as good citizens it is our duty to listen and understand. I am still not sure I trust him, he was very careful to position himself to take credit if all goes well, but make sure that the blame falls elsewhere if it doesn’t. He almost made stand up and cheer though when he mentioned the mortgage problem because he started to address both parts of the problem, but quickly sucked it back in. (By the way in my opinion they are the greedy bankers who took advantage and gave loans to people that were not credit worthy and the greedy home owners that took out mortgages that they couldn’t afford)
I did think of something last night. The auto execs were chastised for flying corporate jets from Detroit to DC to talk to congress. I understood that, why be wasteful in a time of need. However, our President flew to Indiana and to Florida just to attend a rally to sell his plan. Let’s see that is Air Force 1, a 747, and all the support aircraft that goes along with it. Add in the secret service and their cost too. What was the bill for those two trips? Is there money to make those trips when in all reality they serve NO purpose? Could those dollars have been spent more wisely? I know a drop in the bucket, but still he needs to set the example.
