So many young women are addicted to adderall (adderrall) and it's a vicious drug, It's SO easy to get. I don't understand why the pharmacy computers aren't linked up so the precriptions are tracked!

i believe most large chain pharmacies are linked and i believe i heard that just what you are speaking of is going to take place in the next couple of years, i know that a couple years could be a couple lives late, but yeah i do think its in the planning stage right now...all medical records and info are being converted to linked systems to get a controll on all this kind of stuff

It's prescribed for ADD or ADHD but it's a stimulant and appetite suppressant. It's huge on college campuses because it makes you study for hours and hours. ANd girls like to take it because it keeps them thin and suppresses their appetite. At my school, adderall (adderrall) is sooo common. When a student is crammed with work the first thought is, "I got to get an adderall (adderrall)"

Adderall is a stimulant given to people with Attention Deficit Disorder. Very addictice, dangerous and so difficult to quit.

I hope you don't ever take it! It's insidious and dangerous.

Are there any parents of addicts out there? I'm really struggling with how to help my 28 year old daughter without enabling her. She's begging for treatment, but has lied to us and stolen money from us for so long that I have nothing left to help her with. She keeps saying she just doesn't want to live like this any more, Scary!

Is Adderal prescribed ONLY for ADD/ADHD or do they prescribe it for other things?

Just curious as I have been seeing it show up @ schools ALOT lately and was wondering if there are that many kids out there with ADD?

And.. I also heard that if your 'child' is 'diagnosed' with ADD the school gets more money per (diagnosed) student.. I hope this isn't true but it wouldn't surprise me...

i think the medical community is starting to catch on with this, its rare that speed helps people struggling with learning disibilities, sure there are people out there that use these drugs to cope, infact i started on ritilin around 8 or 9, hopefully parents will also start to link metabolic syndrome to these drugs, while you are taking them sure you loose weight but when a patient stops these drugs, most of the time weight becomes an issue
as a person living with learning disibilities i must admitt that i never found a drug that made me concentrate or made me smarter, as a child i really believed that pills had the power to make me a smarter kid, that took a long time to outgrow
blood pressure meds are now becoming a popular replacement for the speedy meds
you guys are right about adderal becoming dangerous to people, i had a friend who used to shoot it up, it said it helped him stay alert while he was on matience, he is no longer with us

adderall is prescription speed, plain and simple.amphetamine aspertane,or something like that. same stuff as in the 60's and 70's.  its rocket fuel,  I use to take it every now and then when I was sick and tired of opioids. I could lift like a monster on the stuff. thats why its addicting.  I know some younger guys that would be on quite a bit of it, taht had bad habits, but they said it was mostly mental stuff after a few days.

its way over prescribed........once again, like all other mind altering drugs in this country.

If you do not have ADHD dont do these drugs and you wont have a problem and then those of us who are legit can live without big brother watching us
